And my little ones
Poor McKenzie was sick :( Nothing worse than a fever and a cough when you're in paradise.
When we got on the boat they told us this was the end of the whale season in Hawaii. They were all getting ready to head back to Alaska. So we might not see much activity. We were out just a few minutes when we found a mother and her baby, and her "boyfriend." It was really neat to watch them. The male jumped (breached) out of the water about 100 yards away. Unfortunately I was on the other side of the boat and didn't get a picture of it :( But I did get a few others. After a while we noticed other whale activity a little ways away, so we went to check it out. It was a competition pod. A group of males competing for one female. It started with 5-8 whales fighting each other. Then a few more came and a few more came, soon there were about 10-15 whales there all fighting and competing for one female. Unfortunately most fighting is underwater, but just seeing that many enormous animals in one place was pretty cool!
Afterwards of course we went to the beach and then the pool. (We figures that after playing in the beach and rinsing the sand off best you can at the showers, the swimming pool works pretty good at getting more sand off)
That night we went to a luau. We were lucky enough to have it so close. We just walked to it.
These 2 danced literally the entire night! It was so fun to watch them!
Kind of hard to see, but Cameron is in the front row with a white shirt, he is learning the hula, along with several of his cousins.
So fun!
