RAD kids

This year in school McKenzie's class is participating in RAD kids. It is a program that teaches them personal saftey techniques. A little more involved than "stranger danger." Well, today was their graduation and the parents were invited to come and see what they have learned. They all put on safety gear- knee pads, elbow pads, gloves, and helmet. Then they went through and obstacle course were they demonstrated some of the techniques they learned. The last obsticle they had was a man- he really was a police officer- dressed up in padding would try to "abduct" the child. They would then fight him off. I took a video of Kenzie fighting off her attacker. I don't know if you can hear it in the video, but Abby was in the backgroung yelling, "Run Kenzio run!"

Say Cheese?

Have you ever had those moments when you really want a cute snapshot of the kids? Well, this afternoon I was thinking just that. But try as I might it was just not happening. These are the few shots I took. The last one ended up being the best.

Festival of Trees

On Wednesday McKenzie was lucky enough to get to dance at the Festival of Trees. She was also pretty darn thrilled that I got to check her out of school early. Her group danced to Frosty the Snowman by Bing Crosby. I was a little bit nervous for her. When they started dance again in August they had a different teacher and were learning a different dance. Then about 5 weeks ago they changed teachers and she changed the dance. So they had a total of 4 dance classes to learn a whole new dance to perform. But they all pulled it off. They did great!! It was a cute dance, and I am very proud of McKenzie for working hard and learning the dance so fast.



We had fun waiting for McKenzie to perform. Of course she was he very last dance from her group.



These are pictures of the kids favorite trees that they saw at the festival. Abby favorite was, of course, the Dora tree. McKenzie liked the Grinch who stole Christmas tree, and Cameron really liked all of the Utes trees.

Give Thanks

For family night on Monday we did a lesson on being thankful fo the things that have. I had them go off by themself and think of things that they were thankful for. Then we all ogt back together to read our list. Obviously Abby just scribbled, but it was still cute. Cameron is just learning how to write and spell words, but he was thankful for his family and wrote each name down. Then he asked me how to spell "oy" needless to say I was a bit confused. "Oy?" I said. "Yes, like toy box." He know that it started with T but was confused with the oy. McKenzie wrote her family and drew pictures of each person. It was amazing, I think that it was the quietest FHE we have ever had. Below are the pages the kids did- again I don't know how to rotate the pictues so just turn your head.

St. George Weekend

Last weekend we took a much neede trip down to St. George. We went with our good friends the Walton's. We spent our time having fun at the pool. Abby's favorite thing was jumping into the pool. Although we had to be careful with her. We forgot her life jacket so we were using some arm floaties. Her little arms were too skinny, sometimes she would slip right out of them- she didn't seem to mind too much going underwater. I guess that we have another waterdog in the family. McKenzie and Cameron enjoyed swimming as well now that they don't need floaties anymore.



The weather was so nice that we were also able to go to the playground a few times. Abby's favorite was the swings, McKenzie prefered the monkey bars and Cameron just wanted to run around and play football with the boys. Speaking of football... GO UTES!!!! Luckily we were able to get The Mountain on the TV and watched the Utes clobber the Cougs.



As you can tell we had a great time! It was sad to have to go back home. I could have stayed there another 5 days and be just happy. Oh well, there is always next time!

Twins 5 1/2 years apart?

I can't firgure out how to rotate the top picture, but I am sure you can see what I mean. The first picture is of McKenzie 6 years ago. She was 20 months old. The second picture is of Abby this Halloween, she is 25 months old. Pretty similar to me.
