Random Pictures

Pug, Cameron and Abby sporting their Ute's hat!

Pug, McKenzie and Cameron at the new Real Stadium for the last game of the season.

Abby is going to be Raggedy Ann for Halloween, so we practiced the curlers just to make sure it would work. I think it looks pretty cute.

Sunday Best

I just took some pictures of the kids on Sunday before church. I wish they would always stay so nice and clean!

Sleepless Morning

Have you ever had those mornings when you wake up and it is just too early to be up? Well, that happened this morning. Cameron woke up at around 4:30 this morning. After I got him settled down and back to bed I was wide awake. I just laid in bed thinking why am I not asleep, then my mind wondered around thinking about things i had to do today, things that I was worrying about, etc, etc, etc. Then I was thinking about something that we talked about in church, and about what I believe it was Elder Bednar said in his confernce talk. About saying a prayer of gratitude. So, I thought, "well I am just sitting here doing nothing I might as well give it a go." I started out pretty generic- greatful for home, family, church, etc. Then I started to get more and more specific. I caught myself a few times trying to pop in a request, but I stopped myself. Before I knew it Jeff's alarm was going off for him to wake up. It was nearly 6:00. And the funny thing is- I could have kept on going. It has made me realized how blessed I really am. I have spent a lot of time wish and thinking about all the things that I want and how much better and easier my life would be "if only," but I have already been given so much. I need to work on being grateful for the things that my Heavenly Father has already given me. It also makes me think of the hymn "because I have been given much I too must give." In this time of economic stress I hope that we can all take the time to thank our Heavenly Father for what has been given to us and find ways to give to those in need.

2nd Grade Field Trip

Last week I was able to go with McKenzie and her class on a field trip to the firestation. They all had a blast. They got to see the fire engine and some of the equipment they have for different emergencies. After they looked inside the truck they were able to each take a turn spraying the fire hose. McKenzie was the very first one to do it. I was surprised it didn't send her flying!! After that they were able to see the ambulance and talk about calling 911. Then for fun they put all 30 students into the ambulance! It was jam-packed! But they all had fun- even little Abby was able to come and have some fun.

"I went to the animal fair..."

On Saturday We took the kids up to the state fair. We try to go every year, but for some reason the last 2 years we have had a hard time going, so this year we were going to go for sure. Of course we had to choose the last Saturday, so it was VERY crowded. And those of you who know me know how much I try to avoid crowds. Anyway, we muddled through the crowds so that the kids could get up close looks at the cows, goats, pigs, chickens, sheep and any other animals that they insisted on plugging their noses as we walked by. It was fun to go to the kids exibit where they could pretend to be a farmer. I think that Abby liked that the best. All in all it was a great day at the fair.

Happy Birthday Abby!!

I can't believe that my baby is two years old already! I thought that there was a rule somewhere that said the babies weren't supposed to grow up. But here she is already 2. Abby is such a special little girl and is such an important part of our family. Whenever there is someone who is sad or crying or just having a bad day, we can always count on Abby to go and give them a big hug. She is the comedian of our family, you can usually find her doing something silly. Her favorite things are her babydolls- which are usually either in the strollers or in bed sleeping- her favorite color is purple, her favorite characters are "Dor Dor" (Dora) and "Melmo" (Elmo). She is working on the potty training and is doing quite well- I think that she would have it all done by now if I could devote a complete week to nothing but potty training, but with 2 other kids that hasn't happened yet. I just can't even imagine my life with out the sweetest little girl in the world as part of my family.

Our New Car

So, our minivan had to be registered last month. We were going back and forth about whether or not we should sell the van or keep it for another couple of months and get one at the beginning of next year. We finally decided that we should just keep it and drive it until it died. So, I went to get the safety and emissions done on it and of course it failed. And if failed all over the place! Plus the transmission was starting to go. So, we started to look at getting a new minivan- because we figured that would be the only thing that we could afford. We went to a dealership to test drive a van. It was nice, but not quite what we wanted so we thought we would keep looking. The salesman wanted us to look at this Dodge Durango that was priced at almost $19k- more than I wanted to spend. So I was looking online and they had the same Durango priced $5k less. So Pug called to see what was going on. Come to find out- and I actually noticed it on quite a few dealerships- they price cars lower on the Internet than they do on the lot. So, if you are in the market for a car make sure that you look online as well as at the dealerships- you might get a great deal!!
