Summer...so far

This summer has been a fun one, so far. And it has seemed a little different from any past ones. We spent the first week of summer break getting ready for Cameron's birthday, and baptism, and getting thing put together for our BIG trip back east. We left for Virginia the Monday after Cameron was baptized (June 13th). And my Mom and I drove cross country with 3 kiddos and a dog in tow. The drive actually wasn't that bad! The kids, for the most part were well behaved. Then we spent almost the next month enjoying time with my parents and enjoying the wonderful historic sites in and around the area. We were always busy doing something. Pug was lucky enough to take off work for the last 2 weeks of our vacation and come out to be with us all. Now that we are home the "other" half of our summer has started. For the most part the kids were doing good, we were busy with all sorts of things (Grandma Fetzer's funeral, cousins, cousins, and more cousins to play with, soccer and more soccer, friends, etc.). But now we have hit a rut. We haven't gone anywhere in a few days, and my kids are starting to fight:(. I am not sure why we haven't done anything- we made a list before school was out of things that we wanted to do this summer. And they had some GREAT ideas (fun things like Promontory Point, Kennecott Copper Mine, downtown SLC). BUT we haven't done any of them! I am just feeling a little burned out I guess. So, I am putting this out there for all to see that I am promising my kids we will do at least 2 things a week on our FUN LIST. Now, some cost money and some don't so I won't have to spend all my money in a week. I just want my kids to think that the summer of 2011 was a great summer!
